Rural Times - Summer 2026 Edition

The latest edition of our online magazine - Rural Times - has been published today.
 

Reflecting on rural policing this summer, our latest edition highlights some of the efforts of police teams including the Country Watch Rural Crime Task Force to deal with offences on the county’s river networks, which peak every summer.
 

This summer also followed a trend seen in recent years whereby early harvests due to the weather have resulted in hare coursers targeting fields earlier than anticipated.
 

The online magazine includes articles on some recent court appearances including a man sentenced for multiple farm animal killings, and a woman sentenced for neglecting dogs and horses following an RSPCA prosecution.
 

We also have information from police and partners about waste crime and advice to landowners on fly-tipping.
